BOARDMAN - Aurelia Buzulencia Friedenberger, 66, who passed Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2017, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Aurelia will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her happiness and caring personality.

She was born July 19, 1950, in Youngstown, the daughter of Aurel and Pauline (Cycyk) Buzulencia, and was a lifelong area resident.

Aurelia was a 1968 graduate of Boardman High School and then continued her education earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology from Youngstown State University. Aurelia retired Oct. 6, 2016, after being employed for over 43 years as a medical technologist in Microbiology for Mercy Health.

Aurelia had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed bike riding, camping, reading, gardening, doing needle point and spending time at their condo in Florida at “Lauderdale By The Sea.”

Aurelia leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories, her beloved husband, Frank Friedenberger, whom she married on Oct. 27, 2003; a daughter, Sarah (Erica Speer-Friedenberger) Friedenberger of Boardman; a sister, Donna Buzulencia of Austintown; and a cousin, Paulette (Ken) Furman of Boardman.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017, from 3 until 5 p.m. the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman, the new location, as a celebration of Aurelia’s life.
