Lenny was one of my best friends in high school and was one of th kindest, gentlest and talented people I ever knew.  We continued our friendship throughout his life and were roomates together a Ohio State before Lenny left to join the Army.  He become the lead trumpet player for the Army Band and played all over the world as its lead soloist.  Later in life Lenny suffered from some mental and emotional issues, but we contined to get together and do things together.   Barb ( my wife) and I would have him over for Thanksgiving and other holiday dinners and Lenny, Sam Miller and  I would get together for jam sessions.  Sam and I loved Lenny and both spoke at his funeral.  We  miss you. May you rest in peace dear friend!

Rick, what a beautiful tribute to Lenny - so glad that you stayed in touch all those years - what a blessing!

Lenny was a pro with that horn even in high school - so very grateful that the world was able to hear his music!

Thank you for the precious memory of Lenny and for your friendship together - truly a gift from God - the band was great with 1st chair clarinet, Rick and 1st chair trumpet, Lenny!! God bless you Rick, hope to see you one day. Happy New Year, Sue Thomas
