Louis Samuel Kreider, 75, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 14, surrounded by love. Born on June 21, 1950, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of Louis and Betty Kreider.
Above all else, Lou was an incredible husband, father, grandfather (“Pa”), brother, uncle and friend. He cared deeply about others and loved his family, friends, and neighbors with his whole heart. Known for his selflessness, quick wit, genuine love of life and strong faith, Lou left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A smart and hardworking man, he earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University, followed by a CPA, and an MBA from Youngstown State University. He proudly served his country for 20 years in the Air National Guard and dedicated 35 years to the utilities industry, most recently serving as Vice President at Aqua Ohio. Lou was very civic-minded, belonging to many local organizations including Leadership Lake County, Boardman and Mentor, Ohio Rotary clubs, and Lakeland Community College. He was also an avid sports fan, loyal to his Cleveland and Ohio State teams.
Lou is survived by his beloved wife, Sara (Sally) Kreider; his brother, Rick; his daughter, Kelly; his son, Chris; daughter in law, Katie and his cherished grandchildren, Cameron, Sienna and Shane. He’s preceded in death by his sister, Kathy.
