William Loupe

William Marcellus Loupe IV, 66, was born in Youngstown, Ohio on February 25, 1950 to Norma and William M. Loupe III. He attended Boardman schools in Ohio. Bill was a talented student in science, language arts (especially writing), history and math. He loved camping, fishing and hunting. He taught himself the art of taxidermy and displayed a skill for it. Bill played the organ and could play songs by ear. After graduation in June 1968, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was trained as a cryptographer and then shipped out to Vietnam. He was stationed in Danang where he coded and encoded top secret messages. He was flown in to reestablished communications when posts were overrun. When Bill returned to the U. S. he was stationed at Camp Pendleton. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1979 at the rank of staff sergeant. Shortly thereafter he moved to Havre with his Marine Corps buddy, Armin Williams lived. Later, he moved to Chinook and established himself as a skilled painter much in demand because of his meticulous work. Many people considered him a friend and enjoyed his wit and courteous demeanor. Bill died July 8, 2016 in Chinook. He leaves behind his mother, sister's Pam Nissler and Lee Ann Loupe and brother Curt Loupe. His family loved him dearly and they are proud of him. Bill will be buried with full military honors in the Veteran's Cemetery at Fort Logan, Colorado.
