Forrest's obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Forrest Edward McCartney, born on June 12, 1950, who peacefully left us on July 3, 2024 at the age of 74. Forrest was a friendly, helpful, hardworking, strong-willed, loving man. Despite his headstrong nature, he also had a big hearted goofy side that brought joy to many.

Forrest is survived by his wife, Susan Hubbell; sister, Marlea Adams; daughters, Michele McCartney D'Arigo and Barbie McCartney; son Matthew Williams and son-in-law, Roddy Williams; son Randall Peyton Hipp and daughter-in-law, Auriana Altman;  nephews, Sabbath Brittain and Kevin McCartney; step-sons, Daniel, Chris, and David Hubbell. His legacy also extends to his grandchildren, Jacklyn D'Arigo, Deidre D'Arigo Wong, Carolyn D'Arigo, Dawn D'Arigo, Victoria D'Arigo,  and Ruby Sanchez-McCartney. As well as his great grandchildren Jaxon, Willow, Zariah, Benjamin, Lincoln, Oliver and Layla.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, John William McCartney, and his parents, Patrice Whetson Davidson and Richard McCartney.

Forrest was a high-ranking high school athlete in competitive swimming, wrestling, and football. He also served our country as a Vietnam Navy Veteran. His passion for sports extended to college sports, having been a die-hard fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a business owner and continued to work even in bad health. Despite his achievements, his biggest pride and legacy are his 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Forrest and his identical twin brother, John, shared an extraordinary bond. They were inseparable in life and now in death, together watching over us all.

Forrest's life will be celebrated on Saturday July 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Windsor Spring Baptist Church located at 3692 Windsor Spring Rd in Hephzibah, Georgia.

Forrest’s spirit, life, and legacy will forever live in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace, dear Forrest, your memory is a blessing.
